Social Security Based on Local Wisdom

Social security can be viewed as a way for protecting societies. In generally, government has responsibility to do this field area. We can learn from local tribe which implemented social security system based in local wisdom. This article aims to figure how social security working in rural area Indonesia especially in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).

After fisherman finished sailing, they will distribute fish to several villagers especially for widow and orphan. Widow and orphan become main priority because they do not have ability for fulfilling in daily life. Moreover, there is another culture about limitation of sail activity. Chieftain manage time for sailing and who allow to go to sea. This regulation is to protect reserve of fish and give opportunity for nature to renew itself. NTT tribe know that sustainable marine environment are very crucial. They are not only think for themselves but also for next generation.

In addition, condition in above show that sustainable development are urgently required to keep this culture. Sustainable development is the concept of needs, in particular the essential needs of the world's poor, to which overriding priority should be given [1]. NTT tribe applied this concept from their ancestor. Greed will be became disaster in next future, They have strong faith that life is to share each other. In another point, sometime local wisdom is more powerful than regulation from government

In conclusion, social security is running especially in rural area because there is a keeper in that area. Therefore, they always respect for each regulation from local rule which they never try to obey it. This concept is very relevant and need for studying about it in particularly area.
