Maintenance management is one part of other process in industry scope. The characteristic of maintenance management is a very informative-intensive process. Rapidly development of computers give an impact which is it characteristics to handle huge of information and separate of communications that must occur to get the work done. A computer-aided maintenance planning, scheduling, and control system, also referred to as a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) which known as application software to handle several tasks such as initiating work request, and planning and scheduling work orders from the approved request. Moreover, It has responsibility to handle other task for planning and scheduling which has type of repetitive orders.
Computer plays important role in Maintenance Management. For Instance, laser bar code scanners are expanding from production and warehousing to maintenance material stores.  Afterwards data management system store information about equipment operation, maintenance method and other useful data.
There are six proven principles ensure success when applied to organizing the maintenance function.
1.       Optimum Productivity Principle, Optimum productivity can reach when all of person who positioned in maintenance department has a definite job to do, in a definite way, and a definite time. The computer provides and controls implementation of this principle. It is used to plan, schedule, and assign each work order, track material, and backlog.
2.       Measurement/Control Principle, Measurement for each activity can help to control effectively. The computer stores work measurement data and provide a rapid, accurate method for applying standard times to each work order.
3.        Customer-Service Relationship Principle, Personnel of operations are the customers. They pay the bill. Maintenance provides the required service. Operation decides what is needed and when.
4.     Optimum Crew Size Principle, The optimum crew size is the smallest number of workers who can perform a job using a good, representative method in a safe way.
5.      Timeliness Principle, Computerized schedule control points are set so that potential completion delays are detected in time to take corrective action.
6.   Activity Responsibility Principle, Efficient work order control requires that management assign definite responsibility for each activity in the life of a work order.

Aku memandang saat ini aku masih perlu untuk mencari bekal yang cukup sebelum menempuh sebuah perjalanan yang sangat panjang. Kita telah dibekali kemampuan untuk melogikakan apapun itu. Logika mengantar kita untuk berpikir lebih jernih, dengan logika pulalah kita mampu mengikuti alur berpikir yang seharusnya.
Kita juga dituntut untuk menentukan sebuah sikap. Di mana perjalanan yang kita miliki bukan hanya diri kita sendiri yang melewati, terdapat berbagai variabel yang parameter yang menjadi acuan dalam hidup itu sendiri. Kita tidak memiliki kewenangan untuk untuk melawan atau menerima sebuah pandangan yang yang baru di mana terdapat pihak lain yang lebih berwenang karena kepemilikan saham atas diri kita.

In nowadays, every organization needs professionals who understand what all the factors affecting its mission are, how they are related, and what can be done to make it all work better. An Industrial Engineer’s job is to find the best combination of people, tools, materials, parts, information and power to provide products or service efficiently. Industrial engineering is different with other engineering specialties such as civil engineering or mechanical engineering. This career track is not restricted to one industry or type of work. It may be industrial in the sense of working in a traditional manufacturing, mining or transportation environment. The rapidly growth of globalization has associated factors of increasing effectiveness in production, shortening innovation cycles, and other field.  It has been possible to compensate this issue by relocating production base to low-cost countries. However, in the medium term, the demands of workers in countries that are still low cost will increase, and production costs will rise as a result. Tolls will be needed to increase efficiency in existing production processes. It also must be considered that production in high-cost countries definitely has its advantages, so these countries are becoming more and more feasible as production base. On the other hand, the degree of automation is already extremely high in these countries, so modifying production processes will not increase efficiency significantly.
The other challenges for production-oriented information technology (IT) system come from norms and guidelines, such as quality assurance standards and regulations in the food and pharmaceutical industries. For now, transparency and traceability are playing an increasingly important role in other sectors as well.
The development of enterprise resource planning (ERP) also helps company to achieve effective value creation in production, equipment and they can meet these demands 100 percent. The challenges are not only how to win competition but also how create system that can be controlled real time involves function for planning, logging, and control it in real time. From these systems, the concept of manufacturing execution system (MES) has arisen.
An alternatively used and more meaningful term for MES is collaborative production management (CPM), but this term thus far has not become well established.
